Sunday school is a place where your faith can grow and your life can be transformed by:

· increasing your sense of belonging,
· giving you a place to make friends and to grow as disciples,
· deepening your understanding of God’s work in your life,
· growing leaders for the church’s mission,
· increasing your commitment to stewardship.
 

Sunday school classes meet every Sunday from 10:00-10:45 am.  You are welcome to attend any class on any given Sunday.  No pre-registration is needed.  Just come and join the fellowship and learning.

THE COLLEGE CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Teaching team
Meeting Location:  Parker Fireside Room
Led by:  Bev May, Lisa Waldrop, Brad Almond, Jim Wilson
Lesson Content:  Variety of Lesson Content
Age Content:  College age
Other:  Open to anyone 18-22.  Come and enjoy the fellowship and study.  Just drop in any Sunday morning at 10am.  You are welcome.  Bring a friend.
 

THE CHRONICLES CLASS---SINGLES CLASS                                                      

Teaching Style:  Guided Bible Study & Discussion  
Meeting Location:  Hunter Learning Center #221
Led by:  Dr. Mary Alyce Mize and other members of the class.
Lesson Content:  The emphasis is on guided Bible study, discussion, and fellowship. 
Age Range: 30's-60's
Other:  The class includes mostly middle-aged singles. Some class members are singled, some widowed, and some divorced.  All are welcome.  Studies include Bible and spiritual growth.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY CLASS

PARENTS OF YOUTH CLASS
 
Teaching Style: Teacher-led study of The Bible and the Christian life.
Meeting Location: Room 213
Led by: Teaching team:  Roger Reed, Jay Wells, Charlie Adair, Leigh Ann Killian
Lesson Content: The emphasis is on spiritual growth, fellowship, and support of FUMCT youth ministry. 
Age Range: Parent of a 6th - 12th grader.
Other: Join us to develop a supportive community of Christian friends who share the concerns of raising a teenager.  Grow together in your faith and support the youth ministry of FUMCT.  
 
 
 
THE NEW BEGINNING CLASS--20/30 CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Discussion led by teachers
Meeting Location:  Stabler Conference Room

Lesson Content:  Bible study; life issues; Christian literature; spiritual growth
Age Range:  22-35
Other:  Single and married.  Graduate students and young professionals.  Come and get to know other young adults in our church.  We have great teachers with wonderful lessons.  We have social events and keep up with each other through a weekly email. 
 
THE WESLEY CLASS

Lesson Content:  Primarily Bible study
Age Range:  20's-30's
Other:  Mostly Married with young children at home. This is a very active class who provides care for each other, is active together in missions and social events.  A weekly email newsletter keeps us updated about each other.  We have a great class.  Come join us.   
 
AFFIRMATIONS CLASS

Age Range:  30's-40's
Other:  Mostly married, but some singles with young to teen children.  Provide class mission projects, social events  and class care. Have a periodic email newsletter.  New members are always welcome!
 
CHRYSALIS CLASS

THE ADVENT CLASS

THE MANNA CLASS

Age Range:  30's-50's
Other:  Variety of ages; very casual; married, single, widowed, divorced, young, teenage, and grown children.  Provide class care and nurture and class social events. The Manna Class consists of and welcomes people of all ages and all stages of life.  The topics and studies vary, but are all easy to join at any time.  Everyone is welcome!
 
 

MIDDLE-MATURE ADULT CLASSES

THE NEW LIFE
 
Teaching Style:  Teacher led discussion
Meeting Location:  Echols Learning Center Room 302
Led by:  Class member
Lesson Content:  Variety of studies including Bible study, spiritual growth, social issues, etc.
Age Range:  40's-50's
Other:  Married with teenage and grown children.  This is a very active class who provides care for each other, is active together in missions and social events.  We  keep up with each other through email.  We welcome new members.    
 
THE COVENANT CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Teacher led discussion
Meeting Location:  Echols Learning Center Room 303
Led by:  Various class members
Lesson Content:  Bible study, spiritual growth, social issues, church issues, etc.
Age Range:  50's-60's
Other:  Both married and single with grown children.  We are a well-organized class with a weekly email newsletter.  We are intentional about class nurture and care.  We support two Weekend Community Soup Bowl Teams and have occasional class social events. The Covenant Class is a great group of committed Christian adults. Come and join us. 
 
THE ASBURY CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Discussion led by class members

Led by:  Class member who voluntarily choose to lead
Lesson Content:  Wide variety of studies including Bible, social issues, spiritual growth, church issues, etc. 
Age Range:  50's-70's
Other: The Asbury Class describes itself as faithful free thinkers. This means a diverse group of couples and singles who join together to discuss topics ranging from Bible study to current, contemporary, or social issues. There is a variety of viewpoints and each person’s opinion is respected. New members are always welcome. 
 
THE ARTOS CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Teacher led discussion
Meeting Location:  Hunter Learning Center Room 220
Led by:  Mostly class members with occasional guest teachers
Lesson Content:  Wide variety of topics including Bible study, spritual growth topics, social issues, and church issues. etc. 
Age Range:  mostly 60's-70's
Other:  Married, single, widowed, and divorced with grown children.  A diverse class membership with excellent lessons.  We provide quality class care, participate together in mission and social events, have a weekly email newsletter.  We welcome new members and would love for you to come and be part of the Artos class. 
    
THE GENESIS CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Teacher led discussion
Meeting Location:  Echols Learning Center Room 304
Led by:  Dr. Hiram Johnson
Lesson Content:  Primarily Bible study
Age Range:  60's-70's
Other:  The Genesis Class is both couples and singles and all are welcome. The usual class is lecture/discussion on a Bible-based topic. Most of our service projects involve the Cooking for Christ ministry which benefits mission projects. Social gatherings are casual and scheduled throughout the year. There is a strong mission emphasis in this class. Come and serve God with us.   
  
 

MATURE ADULT CLASSES

 
THE FRIENDSHIP CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Mostly lecture
Meeting Location:  Room 212
Led by:  Teaching team made up of class members
Lesson Content:  Primarily Bible study with spiritual growth and social issues as well.
Age Range:  70's
Other:  Our class is made up of married, widowed, and divorced persons who are strong in class care toward one another.  We have frequent social events and follow up carefully with each other.  If you want to be part of a group who really care for each other, join the Friendship class. 
 
THE LEE CLASS
 
Teaching Style:  Lecture
Meeting Location:  Room 110
Led by:  Teaching team
Lesson Content:  International Bible Lessons
Age Range:  60's,70's,80's, and above
Other:  Made up of married, widowed, and divorced persons, the Lee Class is very strong in Bible study and in class care.  We are faithful in keeping in touch with each other and caring for each other in times of difficulty.  If you want to be part of a caring group, the Lee Class if for you. 
 
THE AMARANTH BRANDON CLASS

Other:  Warm fellowship and good Bible study.  We care for each other and welcome you into our class.
