WHAT IS CONFIRMATION?
Confirmation is the "coming of age" event in the Methodist church.  After a student is confirmed they are a member of the church and have all the responsiblities as every other member of the United Methodist church. In Alliance Student Ministries we make it a special 9-week program for all 6th grade students.  Older students are welcomed to participate if they have not been confirmed and would like to join the church. The 9 weeks are over the students fall semester and covers a wide range of biblical material.

Confirmands will learn about our roots and heritage as Christians and United Methodists, the practices of the Christian faith (Bible study, worship, prayer, mission) and the basic beliefs of the Christian faith, including God, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the sacraments, hope beyond death – to name a few. Students will learn what it means to be committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Over the 9 weeks we will have a special Confirmation retreat(lock-in at the church), and special classes.  This is an awesome and inspiring time in any students life but it is also a huge decision!  Come and prepare for the decision with us in the Fall.

The Next Confirmation Is In The Fall of 2012
