HOPE & JEFF HOLEMAN – HOUSE OF HOPE
Hope and Jeff Holeman serve full-time in this ministry to renew men for life after prison. The Lord inspired the couple to found this ministry almost seven and a half years ago. House of Hope is a residential aftercare ministry for men focusing on the crucial four month period following release from prison. The primary objective is to provide food, clothing, shelter, guidance and love in a Christian home environment and the opportunity for a transformed life in Christ. Each man is assisted and nurtured as they seek to become self-supporting members of the community.
House of Hope was established in August 2000 and officially opened with the first man in February 2003. As of August 2007, 43 men have been in the program. Currently, 74% of those who have graduated from the program have maintained their freedom. At present 5 men can be accommodated in the home; an expansion is underway to accommodate 12 residents. House of Hope is in Tuscaloosa. County
TERRY HALLMAN – INSIDE-OUT PRISON/JAIL MINISTRY
Terry Hallman is founder and director of Inside-Out Prison/Jail Ministry. We have been in ministry since early 2000. God gave me a panoramic vision of what He wanted us to do and how it is to be done. We’ve come a long way since our beginning, from traveling state-wide prison to prison, to working out of the Tuscaloosa County Jail where I am Chaplain. We have seen many incarcerated lives changed by the preaching of the Word of God, Bible studies and one-on-one encounters.
Our team has grown from just me to three specialize groups. One team is headed by John Reed. John conducts Character 1st classes at the Bibb County Prison with the assistance of Jerry Lake and Dan Robertson. Another team is our Jail Chaplains at the Tuscaloosa County Jail. Sharron Park is our female Chaplain and Brother Johnny Lewis handles our men. Finally the third team is the ministers of the Tuscaloosa County Jail Ministry. We now have 100 churches that are members and 50+ men and ladies that preach and teach in the jail cells every Tuesday night. This ministry has produced over 9,000 conversions, to God be the Glory. We are now beginning the final phase of ministry that God showed to us. We are now moving to the Sheriff’s Office where we will be ministering to officers and staff of the Sheriff’s Office and their families. We will also develop a “Chaplaincy Program” that will benefit Tuscaloosa County. Inside-Out Prison/Jail Ministry is in Tuscaloosa. County
