Our desire is to bring hope and healing through the power of Jesus. The logo on this page is composed of four hands in the shape of a cross, extending outward. We have experienced the grace and goodness of God and want to share that grace and goodness with others. We believe there is nothing bigger than the love and power of Jesus. No matter what obstacles you face, we believe there is help in God’s grace.

We would love to have you join us for any of the activities of the church. Come and experience the hope and healing that is available through Jesus.

You can ask my mother, I've never been a morning person.  Ever.  I think better at night, I'm in a better mood at night and I love to sleep so waking up does not work in my favor. However, in the past few years, God has helped me to experience the precious blessings that come with rising early. As God wakes up the earth each day with a gentle rising sun, so also does God bring each of us into a new day filled with hope, challenge and meaning. Sitting on my back porch with a cup of hot coffee has become the best way to start my day.  In fact, I've learned that whether I spend the time writing in my journal, reading scripture or simply sitting still, the best days are the days when I begin this way.

The psalmist wrote "joy comes with the morning" (Psalm 30:5)  It is during these early morning moments that I ask God to guide me through the day.  And it is on my little back porch that I lift prayers of thanks for First United Methodist Church.  My prayer and my passion is that you'll find a porch somewhere, a cup of really good coffee (or tea) and a moment of stillness to know the blessings that come from being fully connected to a faith community.  Whether you've yet to set foot in our building, or you've been here 10 times, I want to welcome you to a really great place.

Every blessing and lots of coffee drinking,
Mary Bendall, Associate Pastor mary@fumct.org
