CONGREGATIONAL CAREFUMC is committed to ministering to those around us in need. Every Christian is gifted and called by God to be in ministry. Use your ministry gifts in these:
Agape Bereavement: provides care in times of bereavement to our members and their families usually by preparing/serving a meal for families the day of funeral and/or assisting with visitation at the church. As needed basis. Click here to learn more about the development of the Agape Team.
Card Care: usually second Sunday of the month receives a monthly assignment of 5-8 names to address cards to our known homebound, nursing home or retirement living members and/or acknowledge various joys and concerns – new babies, baptisms, sympathies, deaths, thinking of you, graduations, etc. Cards provided, postage paid.
Hospital Bag Assembly: assembles goodie bags with all sorts of provided goodies: bottled water, crossword puzzle book, pen, pad, devotional, and quarters to be given to our hospitalized members and friends.
Monday Altar Flower Delivery: delivers small arrangements from Sunday Altar flowers to our homebound and nursing home members on Monday mornings, usually takes about 1 ½ - 2 hours when flowers are available for our use.
Nursing Home Visitation: visits one or two homebound/nursing home/assisted living members once a month. Let the church office know of needs or concerns of those they visited. The visitor often receives more of a reward than those visited.
Quarter Sunday: every 5th Sunday put out the jars in Sunday School Classes and around the church for quarters used in the Hospital Bags, collects jars after worship.
Recycle Ministry: picks up the newspapers and cans that members have brought from home to the church and delivers them to the Recycle Center. Proceeds benefit the Congregational Care Ministries.
Valet Parking: offers valet parking for members/guests wishing assistance on Sunday mornings; 2 hour shift (8-10 or 10-12) every 8 weeks.
