Sunday school is a place where your faith can grow and your life can be transformed by:

· increasing your sense of belonging,
· giving you a place to make friends and to grow as disciples,
· deepening your understanding of God’s work in your life,
· growing leaders for the church’s mission,
· increasing your commitment to stewardship.
 

Sunday school classes meet every Sunday from 10:00-10:45 am.  You are welcome to attend any class on any given Sunday.  No pre-registration is needed.  Just come and join the fellowship and learning.

Singles Sunday School-The Chronicles Class
AgeRange: AllAdult Ages                                                                                                                                               
Teaching Style: Guided Bible Study & Dicussion  
Meeting Location: Hunter Learning Center #221
 
Led by Dr. Mary Alyce Mize and other members of the class, the emphasis is on guided Bible study, discussion, and fellowship. The class includes mostly singles, but all are welcome. 
 
Sunday School for Anyone-The Manna Class
Age Range:  All Adult Ages
Teaching Style: Discussion
Meeting Location: Second Level #219
 
The Manna Class consists of and welcomes people of all ages and all stages of life:  single, divorced or married; with or without children, young and not-so-young.  The topics and studies vary, but are all easy to join at any time.  Everyone is welcome!
 

YOUNG-MIDDLE ADULT CLASSES

Advent Class
Teaching Style: Informal sharing and discussion
Meeting Location:  Hunter Learning Center Room #219 
 
Advent offers opportunities for spiritual growth and relationship building through informal sharing and discussion. They are continually seeking ways to live out their faith through Bible study and life application studies. Those who are interested in leading class discussions rotate on a voluntary basis. 
 
Affirmations Class
Teaching Style: Discussion
Meeting Location: Echols Education Center #305
 
This class offers open discussion on various topics, alternating in-depth Bible study with current social issues studies. The class is taught by members of the class who feel called to do so as well as outside guest speakers. 
 
Chrysalis Class
Teaching Style: Teacher-Led Discussion
Meeting Location: Echols Education Center #307
 
The Chrysalis Class studies scripture, moral and social issues, faith, and its personal life applications. Taught by some class members as well as church and community speakers, the lessons lead to open and thought-provoking discussions. The members strive to provide strong care, support, and fellowship for one another. Hands-on mission projects and informal class socials are planned regularly.
 
Passages Class
Teaching Style: Lively Discussion
Meeting Location: Echols Education Center #306
 
The class lessons are informal and always include open, lively discussion. Subject matter includes in-depth Bible study, outside speakers and studies of current topics. The Passages Class is mission-oriented and characterized by strong fellowship and camaraderie. Class members who are comfortable with teaching rotate the responsibility. 
 
Seekers Class
Teaching Style: Discussion

Young couples mostly in their 30's. This class offers spiritual growth through study and fellowship. For more information, contact Lee or Bryan Finison at 750-0571. 
 
Wesley Class
Teaching Style: Bible Study and Discussion
Meeting Location: Echols Education Center #308
 
Young Couples, late-20s to mid -30s. The Wesley Class Mission is to grow in our personal relationship with Christ through faith, service, and fellowship. We will apply biblical scriptures in our lives as we strive to be examples of Christ in our marriage relationships, as well as in our everyday opportunities to share Christ with others. Through fellowship and worship, we will become closer to God as we grow closer to each other.
 
Young Professionals 20/30 Class
Teaching Style:  Discussion
Meeting Location:  Stabler Conference Room (Main Office Suite)
 
This class is open to graduate students and young professionals who seek to grow in their relationships with God and other Christians.  Led by Joe and Ginny Adams, this group wants to address the issues of 21st century life and how our Christian faith calls us to respond to these issues.  Come for fellowship, community, and a time of learning together. 
 

MIDDLE-MATURE ADULT CLASSES

Artos Class
Teaching Style: Lecture with Discussion
Meeting Location: Hunter Learning Center #220
 

Artos is comprised of middle aged to early retirement age members with about equal numbers of couples and singles. Class members take turns presenting lessons from the international Sunday School lessons with special guest teachers sharing teaching responsibilities from time to time. The class is connected by email with updates on members and their families shared quickly. The class regularly supports various mission projects. 

Asbury Class
Teaching Style:  Discussion
Meeting Location: Hunter Learning Center #222
 
The Asbury Class describes itself as faithful free thinkers. This means a diverse group of couples and singles who join together to discuss topics ranging from Bible study to current, contemporary, or social issues. There is a variety of viewpoints and each person’s opinion is respected. The class is taught by members who voluntarily choose to be the leader. 
 
Covenant Class
Teaching Style: Lecture and Discussion
Meeting Location: Echols Education Center #303
 
Class lessons range from Bible study to current events with a concentration on how to apply Biblical principles to everyday challenges. Several class members serve as teachers and rotate assignments. This class supports two Weekend Community Soup Bowl Teams.
 
Genesis Class
Teaching Style: Lecture and Discussion
Meeting Location: Echols Learing Center, # 304
 
Genesis Class is primarily couples but all are welcome. The usual class is lecture/discussion on a Bible-based topic. Most of their service projects involve the Cooking for Christ ministry which benefits mission projects. Social gatherings are casual and scheduled throughout the year. Dr. Hiram Johnson is the teacher. There is a strong mission emphasis in this class.
 
New Life Class
Teaching Style: Informal Discussion
Meeting Location: Echols Education Center #302
 

This class begins with a time of informal sharing—about kids’ activities, current news, local politics, and local and/or SEC sports. Class lessons include in-depth Bible study and studies of current topics with a concentration on applying Biblical principals to everyday family challenges. This class connects by email and has social gatherings throughout the year. For more information, contact Geoff Plott at 342-1290 or Carolyn Rogers at 348-8194. 

MATURE ADULT CLASSES

Amaranth/Brandon Class
Teaching Style: Lecture and Discussion
Meeting Location: 2nd Level #216
 

This class enjoys team teaching and discussion.   Bible study and class membership care are important.

Friendship Class
Teaching Style: Discussion
Meeting Location: 2nd Level #212
 

The class values discussion type lessons in a warm, friendly atmosphere where learning and sharing take place. Those who are interested in leading class discussions rotate on a voluntary basis. 

Lee Class
Teaching Style: Lecture
Meeting Location: 1st Level #110
 

The Lee Class enjoys a variety of speakers who lecture on topics with emphasis on Bible study. Class membership care and fellowship are also emphasized.
