Youth Worship Arts -Sunday Night
Youth Worship Arts is exactly what it sounds like, teaching students to worship through the arts. If you are a fan of choir, painting, acting, or dancing, this is the group for you. It meets every Sunday Night at 4. This group is lead by Worship Director James Seay.
KOINONIA Groups – Sunday Night
This is Alliance’s small group program. Koinonia is Greek for fellowship and is used in Acts 2 to describe the first church. We offer several grade based small groups for 6th-12th graders. The full list of Koinonia Groups is below.
6th Grade Boys
Lamar Daniels, Nathan Kenny, and Dylan Reed will be leading a Bible study and talking about basic spiritual disciplines.
6th Grade Girls
Michelle Cheshire, Mary Lou Tucker and Sara Shipp are leading a 6th grade girls study on excerpts for the book A Young Woman After God’s Own Heart by Elizabeth George.
7th-8th Grade Boys
David Hill, Jacob Tucker and Bryan Geer will be doing a Romans Bible Study open for all 7th and 8th grade boys. This group will also focus on the book Celebration of Discipline by Richard J Foster.
7th-8th Grade Girls
Janice Stewart, Megan Cook, and Courtney Woodworth will be leading this class that will walk through the Psalms. Each week the students will read through a Psalm and interpret them through different forms of art.
9th-12th Grade Students
Rodney and Pam Marshall, Xan Key, Whit Scott and Donna Martin will be leading our High School students through a unique study paralleling the TV series Teen Wolf. While at first this may seem like a cheesy “Twilight” spin-off, the series gives great depth to it’s characters. Teen Wolf walks through the struggles of morality, family, purity, and other things all teens struggles with everyday. Rodney has written a curriculum that helps students see these struggles in a biblical light and host discussion about them.
We are very excited about these new Koinonia Groups and hope that you will join us this semester.
All of the Koinonia Groups will meet at the church and begin Sunday, February 19th. Dinner is $3 and the schedule is listed below.
