COVID-19 impact

This feels like a natural disaster—a hurricane or a tornado. We are stocking up, filling up and preparing for time away from work and friends. But unlike a natural disaster where masses of volunteers rush in to help the needy we are being told to practice social distancing—to stay six feet apart and to avoid groups over 10 people. We will follow the guidelines set forth by the President and reinforced by the Alabama Department of Public Health. Click here for the latest updates.

We want to encourage you to think how you can help your neighbors, your co-workers, your extended family and your friends. Can you run an errand to the grocery for someone? Can you pick up a prescription? Send a letter or a card to someone you miss seeing. Email a group of friends to keep the lines of communication open. Call someone and pray with them over the phone. Serving others and caring as individuals can have a big impact. We also lower the risk of spreading the virus when we find ways to help individually.

Pray for our nation and the world. Pray for our leaders, healthcare workers, and those especially vulnerable. Click here to see a special prayer written by our Senior Pastor, Clinton Hubbard, Jr.

There are many reasons that we are staying in the house, limiting our interactions with others

during this pandemic. You may be quarantined because you have been exposed, or staying in

because you are in a high risk category. Or you may be hoping that your actions will “flatten

the curve” and keep the rate of infection from accelerating.

Studies show that there is a link between social isolation and poor mental health. If you want

some tips to help you cope with isolation and loneliness, click here.

If you need someone to talk with, your pastors and staff are here for you. Call the church office

at (205) 345-7261 or email Your requests will be kept confidential and you

will be referred to someone who can help you.
