Human Suffering, Lent, and Mental Health
February 21st-March 20th in Room #110
This study will be led by Bob Montgomery who is a member of FUMCT and a board-certified, licensed therapist serving the Tuscaloosa area.
Lent is the season when Christians are called to reflect. The period begins on Ash Wednesday, with prayer, fasting, and other observances. Lent also focuses on Passion Week and ends gloriously with the Resurrection on Easter morning. Both Lent and mental health professionals focus on the seriousness of suffering. This series will offer insights on faith, pain, and suffering.
February 21st – Suffering – Expectations
February 28th – Depression – A Look at Biblical examples.
March 6th – Anxiety – Birds, Clothes, Wealth & Faith
March 20th – Suffering – “If Thou But Suffer God
to Guide Thee”
* Other WNA classes may continue during this time.
FUMCT 40 Days of Wellness for Lent 2024
Give up to Grow
Each year during Lent, the Wellness Ministry provides a personal guide for reflection and self-examination. Based on the FUMCT pastors’ sermon series, this year’s guide, “Give up to Grow,” offers prompts and questions to help you evaluate your spiritual growth. What can you give up to grow closer to God? See the guide here.
