Wellness

Wellness is the pursuit of good overall health and total well-being. It is marked by intentional living that
focuses on growth in all areas of life – emotional, spiritual, mental, and physical. For over 25 years,
FUMCT has been blessed by a strong fitness program which offers a weight room, walking track, and
fitness classes. We will continue to promote physical health as we add new programs, small groups, and
events that emphasize complete wellness and whole person care.

 

Stop by the resource area outside the CAC office to borrow books or pick up class schedules,
assessments, and health-related articles.

FUMCT Wellness

As part of the FUMCT Wellness Ministry, the Fitness Program includes:


Group Exercise Classes

  • Senior Fitness: Mondays at 8:00 a.m., Wednesdays at 9:00 a.m. & Fridays at 8:00 a.m.

  • Cardio, step, or conditioning (options for all levels): Mondays, Tuesdays, & Fridays at 9:00 a.m.

  • Yoga: Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m.

 

Walking Track
Open business hours:

  • Mondays – Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Fridays: 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Please sign in and out at the main office when using the track.

 

Body and Soul Fitness Room

The Body and Soul Fitness Room offers 6 Bodymaster selectorized weight machines, a Smith machine, a Multi-station system, Olympic free weights, 2 treadmills, a bike, an elliptical, a stair climber, a small rebounder, and stretching area. It
is currently open to staff, church members and program participants ages 19 and over during church business hours by appointment. Email Janice Stewart to schedule orientations and workout times in Body and Soul for individuals or groups with 4 or less people.

WELLNESS

Join us for pickleball!

Pickleball is a fun, social, fast-paced game that is a cross between tennis, ping pong, and badminton. Join us in the air-conditioned CAC this summer on Monday afternoons from 1:00-3:00.All are welcome – including those who haven’t played before – and equipment is provided.  Contact Janice Stewart for more info at janice@fumct.org.

WELLNESS

Senior fitness balance training

Tuesdays, September 19-October 10, 10:30-11:15 am.  We will learn and practice balance poses and exercises to strengthen and stretch the major muscles.  Register by emailing Janice Stewart  janice@fumct.org.

DeStress Monday is a global program, offering weekly practices to help us cope with stress and work on personal growth.  As Christians, we can combine selected practices with spiritual disciplines.  We can add prayers to deep breathing exercises, focus on images of the faith during visualizations and positivity practices, and meditate on Scripture during mindfulness exercises.  DeStress on Monday to stay calm and hopeful all week.
