First Steps
Whether you’re brand new to First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, have been worshiping with us for a while, or are thinking about making FUMCT your church home, First Steps is the place to begin.
First Steps is a three-session pathway designed to help you connect with our church, deepen your faith, and discover your place in what God is doing through FUMCT.
Step Two: Believe
Believing Grows Deeper.
Explore the foundations of the Christian faith, what it means to be United Methodist, and the practices that help us grow as followers of Jesus—including worship, Scripture, prayer, and life together.
Wherever you are in your faith, there is always a next step.
Step Three: Become
Becoming Changes Lives.
Discover how God has uniquely gifted you and explore meaningful ways to put those gifts to work—serving the church, our community, and the world.
Because following Jesus isn’t simply about what we believe. It shapes who we become and how we live.
First Steps Are Just the Beginning
Completing First Steps isn’t the end of the journey. It’s the beginning.
From here, you’ll have opportunities to serve alongside others as a First Responder and continue growing in faith through Step Beyond.
